Granplast 2001 takes a new step toward sustainability with the installation of a 744 kWp photovoltaic system at its Grantorto facility. Active since 2001 in the processing of plastic materials, the Veneto-based company partnered with EnergRed, a specialist in renewable energy solutions. The new system will save over 280 tons of CO₂ emissions per year.
The project combines technological innovation with environmental responsibility. In addition to the solar installation, it included asbestos removal and the complete renovation of the industrial roof, making it a model of sustainable redevelopment.
The initiative was made possible through EnergRed’s CARE&SHARE® model, which enabled Granplast to carry out the project with zero upfront investment. EnergRed fully covered both the solar system and roof remediation. Granplast immediately benefits from the green energy produced, paying only for the self-consumed electricity at a lower rate than the grid and gradually repaying the renovation costs. At the end of the contract, ownership of the system will be transferred to Granplast free of charge.
