European experience from Ripress and reliability from Dongshin for an electric future

A brand new MANAGEMENT PLATFORM has been presented at the International exhibition K-2016 in Dȕsseldorf in Germany, after several months of joined development. Based upon an updated version of the hardware and software developed by Ripress for the european market, the new platform has been installed on the mechanical structure of the DONGSHIN electric machine, a south-korean product internationally celebrated both for performances and reliability.

After many decades of activity as a service company and specialist of refurbishment of injection moulding machines for thermoplastics, the maker of Nova Milanese decided to face in its own style the growing demand for performing, reliable and affordable all electric IMMs. The answer offered from Ripress is a solution that allows a totally independent management of any service issue, following the traditional company policy.

To say the truth, Ripress is not new to joint-ventures with far east companies, as proved by the overwhelming success of the celebrated series HES, a pioneer of the servo-hydraulic solution. Based upon an innovative high-efficency hydraulic circuit, the HES series has become in fact the reference of the italian market about qualitative but affordable small and midrange IMMs, to the point of driving many major makers to follow this path in search for low consumption and reliability, getting ridnof the exorbitant cost of the traditional circuits based upon a moltitude of proportional valves and variable delivery, mechanical pumps, all components become obsolete after the arrival of the new technology of permanent-magnet servomotor driven by P/Q inverters, much simpler, reliable and efficient.

From the beginning, the key of Ripress success has been a control panel developed following the most modern concepts: hardware based upon industrial PC, a freeware operating system LINUX and an electric circuit based upon a PROFIBUS full-digial network. All managed by a software implemented by Ripress in conformity of its long experience about the peculiar needs of the italian plastic industry.
The growing need of a modern and performing all electric solution for all specialists of packaging and “zero defect” technical moulding, different from the servo hydraulic solution dedicated to general industry, drove Ripress to quest for a second partnership, this time with an “all electric specialist” endowed with all that was needed to repeat the success of the series HES. The opportunity to joint venture with an internationally recognized brand not yet present in our country, presented thanks to the high reputation and dynamism of Ripress and because of Dongshin’s decision to enter our country by means of a truly service-oriented local partner.
That’s why the premium quality structure of the Dongshin electric machine, available on the range from 80 to 330 tons of clamping force, will be controlled by the newest version of the user-friendly Ripress controller, always based upon industrial PC and Linux operating system, now featuring a brand new software ready for the “Industry 4.0” revolution and dedicated to our market, without cuts of continuity from the tradition of customer-oriented products typical of Ripress.
The new electric line “GB” will then join the well known servo-hydraulic line “HES” and the price-friendly line “ECO”, in the Ripress global offer. Following the expectations of the management, the new product will contain and go beyond all previous experience both in terms of price/quality ratio and reliability: a proposal dedicated to all customers looking for a performing electric solution, user-friendly and affordable, with a control panel “typically italian” in the user interface with, as a relevant plus, the confidence of a professional and punctual assistance, supplied by an authentically specialized italian company.
