Andrea Rigliano, a professional with over 30 years of experience in the plastics processing sector, joins the Union Group team where he takes on the role of Global Commercial Manager. Rigliano is known for his dynamism, energy and his global knowledge of market trends and process technologies, including extrusion, recycling and thermoforming.

His entry takes place in a team already strong in technical skills and consolidated industrial solidity, key factors in the success of the Union, Tecom and Ceba brands to date. This becomes even more evident with the challenges shared within the group of companies belonging to the integrated industrial group of Mech-i-Tronic.

Rigliano shares his motivation, stating that he fits in “shoulder to shoulder” with a financially solid and technically prepared entrepreneur like Ferdinando Passoni, operational owner of the Group.

A collaboration defined by a combination of pure energy is expected: Union- stronger, closer and faster.

Union Group: the technological offer

The Union Group, known not only as a historic manufacturer of blown and flat die extrusion plants, but also as a developer of open gate software for the management of complex plants and factories, integrated into ERP/MES corporate systems, stands out above all for its robust industrial structure and concrete organization. The market is increasingly looking for serious, concrete and fast partners, and Union presents itself as a designer and builder with its feet planted on the ground in the concreteness of the polymer transformation industry, not just a fitter or assembler.

Union Group companies are reliable suppliers and globally recognized brands of complex extrusion systems in various sectors, including rigid and flexible packaging, insulation panels, sheets and profiles, composite sheets, waterproofing geomembranes and honeycomb profiles.

For 2024, Union aims to compete with international competition through solid and innovative topics:

  • Global equipment efficiency procedures with the “Extrusion Life Run”
  • New concept of real industrial sustainability with the “Zero Problemi” project which retires the obsolete Zero Waste.
  • Maximum competence in suggesting advanced line control systems to guarantee open interfaceability and digitalisation of process data.
  • “Lean & Slim” production organization with personnel with high technical skills and absolute quality control.
  • Intensive use of recycled or biodegradable materials, with focus on upcycling and D&SE = Direct & Smart Extrusion.

Development programs

2024 began with a record number of orders in the backlog and a pipeline of ambitious projects that aim to achieve record budgets for the year to come.

Finally Rigliano comments: “I am joining a Group that is strongly rooted at an international level; not only in Europe but also at converters in the American continent with countless references of complex extrusion plants in China and throughout Asia and I will bring my knowledge of the world of packaging and thermoforming but also of recycling/upcycling even further; I will also develop my skills in total commercial customer care in strategic areas such as India, China and SEA, of which I am a profound admirer of the industrial culture that is making giant strides”.

Passoni confirms: “We are a company attentive to the territories that generate requests for complex extrusion systems for various applications and we want to initiate a powerful territorial development plan with a figure with a great knowledge of the European, USA and American markets in general but with a profound curriculum also present in Asia where Union has many historic customers in strong expansion; Rigliano has a natural predisposition for Customer Satisfaction which is also my mantra and we will commit to multiplying our efforts towards markets where innovation is highly sought after.”
