KYB, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of hydraulic components for construction, agriculture, aerospace, civil engineering, and automotive sectors, has launched its Mini Motion Package (MMP) in Europe. Now in its fifth generation, the MMP is a compact electro-hydraulic actuator designed to deliver high performance across a wide range of applications.

The MMP stands out for its space-saving design, low energy consumption, and powerful output. It offers an easy and cost-effective solution for automation needs in sectors ranging from industrial manufacturing and food processing to medical equipment, building systems, and agricultural applications.

Versatile in Every Context

Available with 12V, 24V, or 220V electric motors, the MMP can be installed in virtually any position and requires only an electrical power supply to operate—no external hydraulic system needed. It can lift loads of up to 1,200 kg, with stroke lengths ranging from 6 to 14 inches, making it suitable for both static and mobile systems.

Its applications span industrial lifting systems, food transport lines, medical and rehabilitation equipment, sports facilities, and even residential installations such as greenhouse roof mechanisms and skylights.

Flexible Configurations

The most widely used MMP model integrates a DC electric motor, pump, valves, and hydraulic cylinder into a single compact unit. A version with separate pump and cylinder, connected via flexible hoses, is also available—ideal for installations where space is limited.

Reliable and Safe Operation

The MMP operates on a straightforward principle: the motor drives the pump, which moves hydraulic oil from the reservoir into the cylinder, causing it to extend. A safety valve prevents overextension, while a control valve maintains load stability at the desired position. In the event of excess pressure—such as due to a temperature rise—a secondary safety valve activates to ensure the load remains secure.

Retracting the piston is just as simple: reversing the current returns oil to the reservoir and lowers the load.

Efficient and Environmentally Friendly

Designed for cost-effective operation, the MMP is easy to install and consumes minimal power since the pump only activates when needed. Its sealed hydraulic system eliminates the risk of oil leaks, helping to protect the environment.

The actuator’s robust build ensures smooth motion with no shocks, and its safety valves prevent load drop and motor overload—offering greater stability compared to mechanical systems.
