With the onset of the corona crisis, the GINDUMAC Group received an order to market the 2011 KraussMaffei KM 5400-32000 MC injection moulding machine from one of Europe’s most renowned automotive suppliers for plastic parts. After 9 years of operation, the machine was to be sold for the best possible outcome, but above all as quickly as possible.

“Right from the start we knew that due to its age only an export business could be considered for the machine. Challenging for a transaction of this size was the automotive-oriented specification in shot weight as well as the high logistical complexity and cost structure. The current market situation made things even more difficult,” says Benedikt Ruf, Managing Director of the GINDUMAC Group.

Through the GINDUMAC online platform and an existing network of customers, the machine was actively marketed globally and specifically offered to automotive suppliers. “With our online platform and network, we have the best possible global visibility in marketing. When demand is there, there is no way around us. In this way, we were also able to establish a link with the Indian customer of the Krauss Maffei KM 5400-32000 MC,” says Janek Andre, CEO of the GINDUMAC Group.

With this global transaction, GINDUMAC is enabling a further life cycle for the machine. The customer is a manufacturer of plastic parts who is repositioning itself as an automotive supplier for the Indian market. The machine is a central element for the new business unit of the company.

“It is always exciting to see what business potential lies behind a used machine deal. With the KM 5400-32000 MC, we enable a new production line for the Indian customer, and in a broader sense also for the local Indian industry. This gives the used machinery business a completely different relevance, far beyond the transaction,” comments Benedikt Ruf.

GINDUMAC is particularly specialized in transactions of used machinery between Europe and India. Its own Indian company has two locations in Vadodara, Gujarat and Mumbai, Maharashtra. The team of more than 10 people offers not only used machines but also local and customer-specific service on site.
